OTAHUHU AFFAIRS.
fTo the Editor.! Sir,—As the president of the Otalmhu Mushroom Club hag invited mc to reply to his letter of Friday last, may I be permitted to do so. I remem'her well the circumstances relating to his censure of two councillors as mentioned, and consider it was quite within reason, and certainly took no exception to his attitude. Mr. McDonald, as we then repj—'od him as; progressive andfar-seeing, was incensed at their apparent attempt to obstruct the district's aflvancement. Now that these same gentlemen have seen fit to broaden their views,' it illbecomes the "reprover" to revert to an action once so repugnant to him. I am informed that when the resolution was passed by the Ratepayers' Association there were but ten members present— a most enthusiastic body. According-to *ts circular the ratepayers are reminded of their responsibility in regard tp f thc coming Tamaki bridge and reconstruction of the road leading to it. apart from any other question. We should all, howthe whole district's advance: nmnt at heart;: encourage thin bridge scheme as a sound-financial proposition. 1 am, etc.', ' CUMMINGS. 3/5/26. .' •
