DEATH OF CYCLIST.
EVIDENCE AT INQUEST.
VERDICT OF MANSLAUGHTER

INVERCARGILL, Monday
At the conclusion of an inquest regarding the death of Frederict Witty, who wa3 killed on the North Road on March S, the coroner returned a verdict that deceased met his death through being run over by a car driven by John Guy Dennison. Dennison is the engineer engaged by the Southland County Council to supervise the work of bituminising the North Road.
Evidence showed that the deceased, who was riding a bicycle, had been struck from behind and thrown against the windscreen.
Dennison was arrested on a charge of manslaughter. Bail was allowed in one surety of £200, and he was remanded to appear on April 7.
