N.Z. LADY SWIMMERS.
SUCCESS OF AUCKLANDERS. THE COOGEE MEETING. SYDNEY, March 18.. A challenge carnival for New South Wales and New Zealand lady swimmers was held at the Coogee Aquarium baths. The 220 yds invitation scratch race was won by Miss Piri Page, of Auckland, in 2m 37 2-ss. Miss Edna Davies (Sydney) "was second, and Miss Claire Gauidwell (Sydney) was third. The 200 yds relay race was won by Misses Ena Stockley, of Auckland (GBs) and Page (725), who beat the New South Wales pair, Misses Vera Pawley (69 3-ss) and Ethel Mealing (71 2-ss). Miss Stockley further reduced her own Australian record in the 100 yds backstroke race- by swimming the distance in 90s, as compared with lief time of Bl 2-5s in the Australian championship.
