Thompson, who h been elected president of the Commercial Travellers and men's Association of New Zealand "\I Thompson is president of the Auckland branch of the body, and has for many years been one of the most active pecmU associated.with it. Proof of the esteem in which he is held can be gained f ro m the fact that his present appointment marks the second occasion on which h has been so-honoured by the United
Association. He was elected its president in 1922, when he was also president of the Auckland Association.
Mr. Thompson has been associated with civic affairs for many years past and is regarded as a sound man of business" and an organiser of no mean order. Hβ is a member of the Auckland City Council, being chairman of the . Tramways Committee. He is also a member of the Licensing Bench and a prominent member of a friendly society. He is asaociated invariably in tiie numerous charity "drives" organised by the commercial travellers.
Mr. Thompson !has had the honour of being elected to the presidency of the united associations in the-year in which the Auckland Association is to have its new premises in High Street.
