LATE SHIPPING.
The C. and D. Line's chartered steamer Inkula is to leave Auckland for Wellington late this afternoon. THE PORT VICTOR. For further discharge of her timber cargo from Bunbury, the Commonwealth and Dominion - Line steamer Port "Victor is expected to leave Auckland for Wellington, Lytteltcn and Dunedin at a late .hour to-morrow evening. The Rev. J. Ernest James, B.A. and 8.D., minister of Collins Street Independent Church, Melbourne, speaking at the New Zealand Congregational Union Assembly this morning, after the delegates from Australia had been welcomed, said that on a recent visit to the United States he had the privilege of interviewing Mr. Calvin Coolidge, who is the first Congregationalist to become President of that great country. Mr. James conveyed greetings and congratulations of the Congregationalists of Australia and New Zealand to the President on his accession to office. The President empowered Mr. James to convey his thanks to his fellow Congregationalists under the Southern Cross, a.nd to say that he trusted the churches would prosper, and that they would take their part especially in working for the peace of the world, so that the spirit of fraternity would, displace the spirit of fratricide.
