A MELBOURNE TRAGEDY. PROSECUTION WITHDRAWN. MELBOURNE, February 21. On the grounds of insanity, a nolle prosequi was entered by the Crown in the case of William Richard Wallace, who had been committed for trial an a charge of murdering Ernest Williams, an American electrician, after a quarrel in a restaurant, on December 9 last.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.) Williams and another man named MacRobertson, the .two being. Americans, in partnership in an electrician's business in Melbourne, were seated in a restaurant, when Wallace told William not to smoke. The pair went outside, and Wallace followed. An argument ensued, and Wallace drew a pistol and shot Williams dead.
