MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. "VYaihi.—The principal operations carried out in the Waihi mine during the period ended December 31, 1025, were as follows: No. 15 level, west crosscut from No. 4 shaft north crosscut was contin-ued diagonally across a low grade mixture of quartz and country for a further 17 feet: the total distance now from the main crosscut is 134 feet. Commencing at 137 feet, 19 feet was driven south through country on tne south side of the lode. No. 14 level, Kdward lode south: In the crosscut at Si) feet south and measuring west from the centre of level, the next 20 feet (oft-25ft) assays 3/9 per ton. Measuring east from the same point, a distance of 20 feet was driven In mostly country. Dunlop northwest crosscut: This lias been commenced at a point 7oHft west of No. 4 shaft, north crosscut, in order to connect with No. 2 shaft and is out 41ft. The eouiitry for the last 21ft is much oxidised. No. 13 level, ICdward lode south: The drive wus continued to ISSUft from tlie 143 ft crosscut. The average assay value from 141 to 17Gft is 22/5 per ton. At lGlift, a crosscut was driven 17ft from the east wall and the average assay value for this distance is 11/0 per ton. The last -"ift in the crosscut is mostly country. No. 12 level, south branch of Dreadnought lodo : AVest of Martyn cross, a total of 37ft has been driven. The average width is about 4ft nnd average assay value from 10 to 34ft, 17/ per ton. No. 11 level. Edward lode: The drive north from Lyndon crosscut was advanced to 41 ift where work is suspended. The assay value at the face is 14/8 per ton. The south drive was advanced to 33ft, where the lode pinched out in disturbed country. Salmon reef: At 240 ft in Salmon west crosscut, driving south-west was commenced on an irregular formation of quartz and country. A distance of 2Sft has been, done. The assay value is low. A total of 2:? ft was also driven northeast without disclosing anything of importance. No. 10 level, London north crosscut has been advanced to 229 ft. At 212 ft there is 3ft of quartz, assay va'ue 3'l per ton. Course 4C>dee. (true), and dip one in six west. At 210 ft there is one foot of quartz, assay value 53/7 per ton. Course 17deg. (true), dip two in three west. Shark north-west crosscut was continued to 20Jft. At 10ft in, driving was done for 21ft north on a vein of quartz. The assay value at lCft is 64/2 per ton and width 31ft. This vein does not appear to be important. No. 9 level. Murphy north crosscut from Martha lodp. has been advanced to 1361 ft. At 133 ft. the north branch of Martha "lode was intersected, width 4ft, and assay value 4/11 per ton. The course is 6orteg. (true), dip one in four south. Xo. 6 level, Xo. 2 reef: Commencing at Pink winze, a total of Sfift was driven east on the course of this reef. Tliq average width is about 2ft, and assay value to 74ft, 11-V per ton. No. i> level. North Leader or N. Branch of Martha lorle. The drive was advanced a further Cljft north-east, making a total of 106} ft. The average width of quartz is about 3ft of good grade. Xo. 2 shaft: This is down 141 ft below No. 13 level. Sinking is suspended owing to water being met.
