F OTENING A FORTNIGHT HENCE. 1 CHAMPION CYCLISTS TO What is considered to be one of the finest sports grounde in the Dominion in the making will be opened two weeks from to-night at Blandford Park. This ground has undergone a sweeping trans- t formation; from an ordinary football s ground it has been turned into an up- I to-date athletic stadium. The cycling a track is regarded as one of the finest ( in Australasia, the banking being a c special feature. 1 The opening night's programme t .« s headed by the famous Australian cyclist,! ] Harris Horder, winner of the World's r Cveling Derby, and Phil O'Shea, the veteran MaoVilander, whose brilliant c performances on the cycling track have , placed him amongst the finest perform- j ers produced in the Antipodes. The fact of these two champions having entered j points to a memorable evening's sport j being witnessed. _ \ Entries from Wanganui and -fal- j merston are also to hand, and the «- j sponse from local entrants is good.
