MELANESIAN TUCK BOXES.
(To tbe Editor.) '. Sir, —For many years past it has been the custom of New Zealanders to send, per the Southern Cross, a -tuck box to j every white worker in the Melanesian . Mission. Most people have a fairly good ; j idea of the hardships and loneliness of , • life in this particular Mission and of the : j poor pay attached to it. The tuck boxes ! i contain medical comforts and a few ■' home delicacies which have to be speci- i i ally manufactured to withstand the. i tricks of climate. The Southern Cross ' sails early in April, and on behalf of A the Melanesian Mission I ask sympa- [s thisers to send their contributions as M soon as possible, and I can assure them ! J that such money ; will be judiciously ! f expended for a grateful body of men and 11 women.—l am, etc.,' J A. K. CRUICRSHANK, J , Hon.-Secretary. j St. Mark's Vicarage, ' Eemuera, Auckland.
