Charles Edward, Duke of Saxe Coburg Gotha, eon of the Duke of Albany, is among the ex-princes claiming large sums from the State. The Berlin Press describes him as a real Englishman, who never renounced his British nationality. The Duke has already been awarded by the Supreme Court' 30,000,000 gold marks and extensive landed property. He now claims a further 4,000,000 " gold marks from the Thuringian Government.
