BUS OUT OF CONTROL.

CRASHES INTO POLE. DRIVER ESCAPES UtfHUBT. Between 7 and 8 o'clock this -'morning, one of the large motor buses running between Devonport, Milford and Takapuna, driven by a young man named 11. Blomfield, son of Mr. T. Blomfield, came to grief. When the accident occurred the bus was , being driven out to Milford. When, near Black Rock, Kitchener Street, the driver says he heard a click, and the bus was immediately out of control. It crossed the road and dashed over the footpath, running into a telegraph pole, damaging the pole and breaking the ■wires overhead. The bus was considerably knocked about, front springs were broken and the wheels were locked, on the telegraph post. The glass wind-screen was broken. Fortunately there were no passengers in the vehicle at the time, as the bus was proceeding to pick up its first load. The driver escaped unhuxt.
