THE PLAY ASSOCIATION.
APPEAL EOR SUPPORT. The Play Association, whose summer activities are. now at.their height, is a voluntary organisation that aims, among other objects, in providing properly organised and . supervised games for those city children who are compelled to remain in the city during the school holidays. The association has found it absolutely essential to supplement the support of its voluntary assistants. by the employment of properly trained supervisors. These, are on the grounds all day, and have "full charge of tfc* children and material, so that the children get the most out of the facilities provided. • At Carlaw Park (kindly lent to.tie association hy the Rucby League) the attendances of the children have been over 100, and are still growing as others realise the facilities provided. ' In order to cope with the attendance by providing material and to pay the salaries of the supervisors, the associar tion has to rely almost entirely' on voluntary contributions.. It ha 3 foen fortunate in receiving donations both of money arid material, but these are not sufficient, and unless further support is forthcoming tufty have to curtail some of its activities/ !i ' Any donation, however small, will be welcomed, and may he sent to the hon. secretary (Mr. K. Thomfts, 54, Campbell's Buildings, Hich Street). Any person interested and willing to help will receive a cordial welcome, particularly at Carlaw Park and the Newton Central School playground.
