ITALY'S QUEEN MOTHER.
TOUCHING FUNERAL IN ROME. WEARING OF THE MARGUERITE ROME, January 12. The funeral of the late Queen Margherita, mother of King Victor Emmanuel 111., was the most imposing ever accorded to an Italian. The remains of the late Queen were interred at the Pantheon by the side of her late husband, King Humbert, and King Victor Emmanuel 11. The Government intended that the ceremony should be a fresh dedication of th%country's attachment to the dynasty of Savoy. The funeral train left Bordighera on Saturday morning. Every station for a distance of 500 miles along the route was crowded with people anxious to pay a last tribute. Half a million people, many of whom were weeping, lined the flower-strewn streets of Rome. All' knelt and prayed as the funeral passed. Everyone wore a marguerite.— (A. and X.Z. and "Sun.")
