SANDERS CUP.
TRIALS AT WELLINGTON., PEGGY'S FIRST DEFEAT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The seventh Sanders Cup trial racs was held yesterday in a steady northerly breeze, and was the best fourteen-footer race seen here for a long time. Peggy» whict had won all the previous races, waa beaten by Wellesley by a fraction of a second, with All Black five seconds behind. Peggy sailed the first three races unofficially owing to the belief that her mast was too far forward, but she was then accepted as an official candidate on proof that the mast had not been moved since she previously represented Wellington. The eighth trial was fixed for tomorrow.
