AUCKLANDERS ON, TRAMP. WONDERFUL SCENERY. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ".♦'-..'■ GISBORNE, this day. ; •A fascinating walking tour through the heart of the Urewera Country has been completed by two. Auckland residents, Messrs. W. Rushworth. and W. Collins. After visiting Rotoriia, they walked to- Te Whaiti, thence to Ruatahuna, where they received- , a royal welcome from the Maoris. They later etruck across country to Lake WaikaTenioana, and then came to Gisborne. intend walking through the bush road! between Motu and Opotiki. Speaking of their experiences, the trampers said that the scenery throughout the trip beggared description. The track in many places wound through dense bush-clad gorges, so steep that it was almost impossible to see the sky above. Contrary to expectations, tho track was in good order, and they had no difficulty in finding their way. Reports of wild bulls being in the vicinity of the track were given them, but no sign of any animals was seen on the way through.
