He is a pacer, and is' a full brother to Rock Hinton, and half brother to the one time speedy horse, Strategy.

After his dual success at the New Brighton meeting, Countryman is nicely treated in the New Zealand Trotting Gold Cup, and promises to, start a -warm favourite on Saturday. Dolly Dillon is also being- freely discussed for the same race. She has a two mile record or 4.27 3-5, and is handicapped on 4.31. Pedro Pronto win not be a starter in the New Zealand Gold Cup at Wellington. Billy Sea has lert A. Hendriksen's stable and is now under the care of R. C. Alexander, private trainer to Mr. J. A. Mitchell, or Palmerston North. The speedy run erratic pacing mare Pearlle Chimes Is not likely to be kept in training, and will shortly visit one of the local stallions. ._ • The flve-year-old mare Fancy Pronto, by Don Pronto from Fancy Gentle, has been purchased by Mr. G. The trotter Young Carbine, winner of the. 'Progressive Handicap, one mile' and a-hair, in 3.37 2-5, on the concluding day or the Canterbury Park, Trotting Club's summer meeting, appears to be badly treated at Wellington, as in the Nal Nal Handicap or one mile and a-half, 3.45 class, he is handicapped to do 3.29, and in the Lambton Handicap or two miles. 4.54 class, he is on 4.40. Probably there Is an error, and it is due to the incorrect time reaching the handicapper.
