ELECTRIC SERVICE DISORGANISED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CAMBRIDGE, this day. Yesterday afternoon about four o'clock a severe thunderstorm swept over the district, the thunder being very heavy and the lightning particularly vivid. Leamington, Monavale, and Roto-o-rangi suffered most, the electric service being disorganised in these districts owing to lightning perforating the transformers, which were cat cff. . Several cattle on the farm of Mr. H. Giles, at Monavale, had a narrow escape from death, being knocked down and dazed by lightning. Heavy rain was again experienced in Cambridge last night, and it is showery to-day.
