NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. SECOND TE AWAMUTU TEAM. (From Our Own Correspondent.) TE AWAMUTU, Monday. A second team from the Te Awamutu Bowling Club, comprising Messrs. R. Ross, T. Grant, R. Henderson, and J. B. Wilson (skip), has been nominated for the North Island Bowling Championship Tournament, to be held at Hamilton. A UNIQUE CONTEST. VETERANS ON THE GREEN. A unique bowling match took place at the Greytown howling green on Saturday, when the Masterton Park veterans. D. Flnlayson, R. Rigg, L. Nix and C. Wilton, whose ages aggregate 303 years, played a challenge match with the Greytown veterans, Haigh, MacGuire, Bockett and Udy, whose combined ages exceeded those of their opponents by 21 years. This handicap apparently proved too great for Greytown, and they suffered defeat by 18 points to 12. Considerable interest has been taken in the match, since the losers issued the challenge. Both teams were loudly applauded on all the heads, many of which provided some close and interesting play. i ___________-"_________-
