LARGE CLEARING SALE.
MR. W. G. STEAD'S STOCK. (From Our Own Correspondent.) MORRINSVILLE, Friday. The sale of Mr. W, G. Stead's Te Mimi estate stock at Morrinsville, was the largest clearing sale in the district for several years. The stock included 3025 sheep, 310 head of store cattle. 135 dairy cattle, 20 store pigs and 20 horses. The sale attracted a large crowd of farmers from all parts of the Waikato, including Te Awamutu, Cambridge, Matamata, Te Aroha and Patetonga districts. Bidding was keen, and prices on the whole appeared to be entirely satisfactory, practically everything being cleared. Among the horses, draught mares sold up, to £39, geldings to £22, draught mares Tvith' foals at foot up to £39 10/, mares in foal to £22, and hacks to £15. A sow and nine young pigs realised £10 15/, and other pig 3upto £2 13/. Among the dairy cattle, heifers in calf brought up to £5 16/, yearling Jersey heifers £4 16/, and young dairy cows up to £7 5/. Sheep: Eat and forward wethers 26/7, 2-tooth wethers 23/6, 4-tooth wethers 23/, fat lambs 24/3, store lambs 14/6 to 17/3, ewes 16/6, fat ewes 11/6 to 12/, aged' Southdown rams 3_tgns. Bullocks sold up to £8 19/, cows £5 7/6, and heifers £3 7/6.
