A COASTER ASHORE.

REFLOATED "WITH LTTTI-E DAMAGE. INQUIRY TO BE HELD. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") NAPIER, this day. Early on Christmas Eye, while on a voyage between Gisborne and Napier, the Richardson steamer, Kututtm-ui,. went ashore off Table Cape. The damage done was very slight, and the vessel was refloated without difficulty, and was able to proceed to Napier. The Kututunui left Gisborne on December 23, with a full cargo of wool for Napier. At about 2.30 on the morning of the 24th, the steamer struck about a mile inside the end of the Cape. She came off immediately, and was able to proceed to Napier, where she went on the slip for examination. It was found that little damage bad been suffered. The" circumstances surrounding the mishap have been kept very quiet, but it is understood that a preliminary inquiry has already been held. Meantime, the result oi the inquiry has not been announced, and full investigation will later be made. 1°
