BARQUENTINE FAVELL.

ASHORE ON A SANDBANK.

MELBOURNE, January 8. The Finnish- barquentine ' Favell was driven ashore on a sandbank at Port Phillip during the storm last night. She remained there eight hours before she was discovered. The vessel is 31 miles from Queenscliffe. Heavy seas are running, and there is a danger of their battering her. There is a big deck cargo. A number of tujrs are standing by.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.) Tlie Favell 13 a steel vessel of 1331 tons. She was built at Bristol in 1805. Her port of registry is Helsingfors.
