MURDER OF CONSTABLE.
AN ITALIAN CHARGED. (Received 12.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Domonico Condella has been committed for trial on a charge of murdering Constable Clare.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.) A melee occurred at North Melbourne on Christmas Day, in which several Italians and police constables in plain clothes were involved. One of the Italians fatally stabbed Constable Clare. Domonico Condello ran away, but was pursued, apprehended, and charged with murder.
