PROTEST BY SHIP OWNERS.j A DECIDED STAND. QUESTION OF EMPLOYMENT. (By Cable.-Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 12.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, this day. In a letter to Mr. Kaeuurn (general secertary of the Australian Seamen's Unioli), the Commonwealth Steamship' Owners' Association states that inter- : State steamship companies will in future ' decline to employ any member of tne J Seamen's Union guilty of having caused j any vessel belonging to any of the com- j panics to be delayed, or of having attempted to exercise job control. The companies will also refuse to employ any., man who fails without reason to join his : ship, or is absent at sailing time without cause. . j Accompanying the letter is a memo- | randum giving 47 cases in which job i control has been practised since the j agreement was signed between tbe union j and tbe association in August.— (A. and N.Z.
