ROYAL NAVY.
EMPIRE CRUISES USEFUL. I LONDON, December 10. Earl Jellieoe presided at a lecture given by Commander Vivian on the Empire cruise of the special squadron, and urged that there should be a similar cruise every three or four years in order that Britons overseas might realise the development and growing efficiency of the Navy. He paid a high tribute to all who had taken part in the cruise, and suggested that an exchange of vieits between ships of the Royal Navy and of the Royal Australian Navy would create a spirt of competition which would be inestimably valuable in future.
Earl Jellieoe said he also hoped there would be an exchanbe of personnel. The more the two navies mixed the better it would be for both of them. — (Reuter.)
