BRITISH MONEY USED. AN AUSTRALIAN OBJECTION. SYDNEY, December 10. The president of the Australian Association of British Manufacturers, Mr. Hudson, speaking at the annual meeting of the association, said that last, year Australia bought nearly £50,000,000 worth of competitive goods from countries other than the United Kingdom.

Mr. Hudson strongly criticised the tendency which he said was now showing itself to use Empire capital in supporting foreign production. The association had reliable information that for the building of the Federal. Parliament House at Canberra a large order had been placed in the United States for door and window fittings for which British manufacturers were not given an opportunity to quote. The Government Bank in Sydney had obtained locks, hardware, and fittings from the United States, and the South. Australian railways were getting over £1,000,000 worth of railway waeons in the United Statee — (A. and N.Z.)
