COLLISION WITH CENTRE POLE
A motor car which was being driven along Manukau Road from Parnell in the direction of Newmarket about 6 p.m. 3 .sterday, came into collision with a tramway centre pole with such force as to cause the top of the pole to break off. For a considerable time the disabled car, which had the radiator badly damaged, was an exhibition that drew quite a large crowd of spectators -while the driver, who had suffered only slight injuries, was absent to.get medical attenj tion, and to arrange for towage of tha | car to a garage. .
