'UZZLE WORDS FOR PATIENT WORKERS. " STAR'S " SPECIAL V HOME-MADE " SERIES. NUMBER VIII. The puzzle accepted for publication to-day as the eighth of the " Star's " special " Home-made " series shows a pleasing attempt to include a number of Maori words, which have become familiar to New Zealanders, and the idea is one that should commend itself to puzzle-makers. It was submitted by Mrs. L. Johnstone, Massey Road, Manurcwa. Only four two-letter words are included, and the longer words are mostly in common use. The definitions are above the average, and show a real attempt to give a reasonable clue, without making it ridiculously obvious. HORIZONTAL. VERTICAL. 1. Voice of a dove. .11. To peep. 1.
