GAOL SURGEON.

t DR. MURRAY RESIGNS. The appointment of Dr. C. H. Tewsley, to succeed Dr. N. W. Murray as medical officer to the Auckland prison, has been gazetted, according to a Press Association message from Wellington. Dr. Murray has been the gaol surgeon and police doctor for about 17 years. Ho left for Gallipoli with the Alain Body, and was away during the whole of the war period, but resumed his position on his return from France. He has found it necessary to resign the position owing to the pressure of his private practice.
