SANDERS MEMORIAL FUND.
THE HERO'S DECORATIOXS. It is gratifying to those many people who are interested to note that the Sanders Memorial Fund, established for the purpose of commemorating the memory of the late Lieutenant-Comman-der Sanders, V.C., has accumulated to such an extent that it now stands at over £2000. The Mayor, Sir=James Gunson, has held the fund in trust, but as he is going out of ofiice in a short time he has decided to call a meeting of the general committee to discuss the erection of the memorial. The Mayor yesterday received from the" trustees of the late Mr. S. Sanders, father of the deceased sailor, an interesting; collection of the lieutenant-com-mander's trophies and war effects. Included in the collection is the Victoria Cross. Distinguished Service Order and other medals and decorations, also letters from the King, Lord Jellicoe and others, and pictures of the Prize, the ship on which the hero won the coveted distinction.
