CROSSWORD PUZZLE.—No. IV.
Here is the fourth of our series of cross-word puzzles. In case you have not yet joined the. puzzlers, here is vrhat to do. Id eaub of the -white squares you are to place one letter of a word which answers to the meaninfr given in the list against the correct number, until every word is lettered into the. puzzle. When you have done this words which cross will interlock, and the puzzle will be solved. Certain white, squares are numbered; they arc the squares which start words; and each number refers to a correspondingly numbered definition. The black squares are only to end words, and are blanks. Words run horizontally (from left to ripht i and vertically (downwards) until stopped l\v a black square or the edge of the puzzle.
