PASSING OF A GREAT JURIST. (By Telegrai--.—Press Association.) WANGANUI. this day. A large gathering of members of the Wanganui Law Society at teh Supreme Court to-day paid tribute to the memory of the late Sir John Salmond. Mr. Justice Reed, in an eloquent speech, said that Sir John's passing was a great loss to the Dominion. He referred to Sir John as a great jurist. His knowledge of international law was invaluable during the great war. Mr. Justice Reed also referred to the value of his book on torts, which was recognised the world over. Mr. Lloyd, president of the local law society, also paid a fine tribute to Sir John Salmond.
