X.Z. AMATEUR CHAQIPIOXSHIP. It was Intended that the. second semifinal would be played off ill the championship at tile Auckland Sports Club last evening. However, owing to the illness ef F. Oswald, this player was compelled ro withdraw from the contest, and the first session of the final of 2100 up was commenced between K. V. Roberts, the title holder, and R. Fredatovieb. Though bo-.li players were not in their best form some excellent individual shots were displayed. Fredatovieli led all through the session. making useful breaks uf 20, 22. 2?. 20. 2S. 23. :li). 20. .'l7. 30 ami 34. averaging 8.3. Roberts was nor too well favoured with 111" run of riie balls, anil made runs of 22. 21), 38. 2:'., So. 47. 24. 2i». and 22. average 0.5. The scores at the close were:—Fredatovieb.
