(Applause), s> Mr. Kostich, in reply, said that on the * eve of his departure for Australia lie -j wished to express hearty thanks for the ■ many kindnesses shown to him in Auck- 1 land, ami also in the other centres that he had visited. He was really pleased ] with the friendly treatment he I»a<l i received in Xcw Zealand, which he hoped to revisit in 1927. He would henceforth be able to take a much closer interest i in the chess of this Dominion than had j hitherto been possible for liim, and he j was pleased to learn from many sources that Xew Zealand enthusiasts would watch his career with added interest as 3 a result of his visit. -(Applause.)
