There are several promising young ones by this American sire that are now In training, two or the most likely to dcveiope Into something useful being Betty Molio and a three-year-old Ully rrom I lola, the dam of Tamarisk. .7. T. Paul has a team of eight in training at Otnhuhu. but unfortunately seven of the number are suffering rrom seven; colds. So rar Jewel has escaped thougji it is quite likely this promising mare will contract il rrom the others. Lo Meriel, which was purchased by Mr. Jones, of Te Awamutu. at Mr. J. R. Corrlgan's sale last Easter, is now being trained by \V. Orange. At present she is very light in condition, and it will be some lime belore she is ready to race. Pluewood Is now under the care of trainer Wells, who also has White Socks 111 his charge. The lormor Is on the down grade, and will nnd the shorter limits ln the two-mile events against his chances of success. Kelson Tasker is looking a picture, and should have, no dinicully in wjnuing a short race or two in the near ruture. Aerlcl Bingen has been moving well on the local track, and threatens to prove bard lo beat In the unhoppled events. R. Millen Is giving Wimmera King plenty of strong work, which the Australian-bred gelding appears to be thriving on. Pitaroa and Cute Lad have done exceptionally well, and should be well rorward lor the October meeting. The same can be said of Master Councillor. .T. Lynch has been doing a lot of work with his maiden pacer Faith, and she appears to have come on pretty well. The. latest addition to J. Shaw's team is the aged paring gelding Cold Flake, which during last season was trained by A. Bryce. The youngster that recently went into A. Julian's stable is by Admiral Wood from the same mare as Oakhampton. Mr. R. L. Absolum, secretary or the Otahuhu Trotting Club, recently underwent a slight operation to his leg. He is now well on the road to recovery. G. Fhipps has made another start with i Tradesman, the aged gelding looks all the better lor bis recent spell. Mint Boy has been trotting welt in his work, and only has to produce his track form on race days to collect a stake. One of the best maiden trotters at headquarters is the brown mare Lady Ena. Up to the present time Blue Mountain King has done all that has been asked or him, and he looks in arst-class order lor i the coming season's racing. Nominations lor all events at the spring meeting of the Auckland Trotting Club close with the secretary at 5 p.m. on Friday, September 26. WAIKATO TROTTING CLUB. HAMILTON, this day. Conradi were elected life members of the club, and eulogy was passed upon the services they had rendered to it and to trotting since the formation of the clnb some IS years ago.
