CITY'S EAST WIN.
PONSONBY BEATS RICHMOND.
Strong counter attractions saw a very poor attendance at Larlaw Park this afternoon, when, after a fortnight s break owing to the visit of the Jb.nglisb.men, the senior grade competitions were continued.
An uninteresting game on No. 1 ground saw Ponsonby defeat Kichmond oy 17 points to 4, the former liavin" all the best of the second half.
Playing on So. 2 ground at Carlaw lark. City had an easy win over Athletic, the game finishing—City 35 Athletic 10. The winners had five juniors in their team, while Athletic played no less than 10 men from the lower grades. At Victoria Park, a close game between Newton and Mangere saw the former win by one point, the scores being 12 points to 11.
