HOSPITAL CASES
WEEK-END ACCIDENT LIST. Nino accident cases were admitted to the Auckland Hospital on Saturday, the majority of them being players who had been hurt on the football lields. William Whittington, 23 years of agj, living at 21, Tennyson Street, Grey Lynn, received a fracture of the right leg near the ankle, while playing in the Richmond-Athletics match. Hillary Pickett, a boy of 14 years, of 66, Wellington Street, City, fell while climbing a fence at Victoria Park and broke his right arm between the wrist and elbow.' Arthur Mathias, 20 years, of 7, jVlamio Street, Remuera, fell while playing in a scratch football match and broke the fibula of his right leg near the ankle. Peter Burlcy, of William Street, Mt. Albert, C 6 years of age, was knocked down by a motor car after alighting from a tram at the Mount Albert terminus, and sustained facial injuries. A Ponsonby player, T. Whaley, had his collarbone broken while playing in the Ponsonby v. Richmond second grade match at Pt. Chevalier. Mrs. Dorothy Donaldson (23), who lives at 48, Wyndham Street, was in Upper Queen Street at about 9 p.m. yesterday when she suddenly collapsed. A man 'standing near at the time rendered first aid, after which Mrs. Donaldson was taken to a chemist's shop, and from there to the hospital by a St. John Ambulance. She is progressing favourably. Allen Blewden (16) was knocked against a fence at the Showground while playing for Ellerslic against the PonEonby team on Saturday, and suffered a large abrasion at the back of his head. A compound fracture of the third finger of his right hand was the lot of Andrew Montague (21), of 23, Kelson Street, while playing at Victoria Park. A League footballer, P. Peckham, cf Hamilton, badly strained his ankle on Saturday afternoon while playing at Huntly. This will put Peckham out of play for the remainder of the season.
