Regarding the conference with Dominion representatives which the British Government proposed to hold in autumn j to evolve some system whereby existing j methods of consultation between the ' Dominions and the Mother Country re-i lating to foreign policy and Imperial affairs may be improved simultaneously, I the "Times" says opportunity will be j ; taken to discuss the desirability of I enlarging representation of various units at the regular Imperial Conferences in order to obtain greater weight of , authority for -any recommendations J reached. ! Having regard to the fate of the preference resolutions, attention will prob- | ably be directed towards the usefulness ■ of including in tbe representation members of the official opposition to the I various Governments actually in power ' so that opinion from more than ono ' quarter can be obtained on a subject ' before any recommendation fs made. — ' (A and N.Z. Thomas announced 5n the House of Commons that it . was settled a representative of any Dominion so desiring might become a member of the Empire Delegation at the conference on the panel system. Representatives so appointed may attend the Conference when not sitting as members. J This is to ensure that Dominions' repre . sentatives are fully acquainted with all j the proceedings of the Conference.
