CARE OF EYES AND FEET.

No series of articles dealing with the face is complete without special mention of the eyes, such an important feature in every face, and, as usual, precaution is invariably better than cure, and much easier. Therefore, try to prevent lines and wrinkles forming in the fine skin round the eyes. Read only in a good light. Try never to read iij bed, or in such a position that the light comes under the eyelids. The ideal arrangement is to have the light falling from behind on to a nape, leaving the eyes themselves in shallow. Never sit facing a very bright light, as it tends to make one wrinkle up the eyes, and use a sunshade out of doors, or wear a shady hat. At night a special oil should be used round them. This should be applied gently with the fingers or cottonwool, and allowed to remain on, after which use cream in the ordinary way. Always try to find time once a day to treat the eyes as follows : — Take a good eye lotion, soak two little pads of cotton wool in it, and place one on each eye. Rest like this for ten minutes, or so. Yon have no ill va how helpful this is, and how much it, does to keep the eyes looking young. If you rest after Hindi, do it then, if not, before dinner. Eyebrows and Lashes. The eyebrows and eyelashes should bo gently brushed every day after powdering the face; many women forget to do this, and it quite spoils the effect to see them white nnd powdery. Always brush the eyelashes up every night and morning: it strengthens them and helps to make them curve. The Ankles. And now a hint about ankles, for in these days thick or ugly ankles do look bad. If the bones are thick. 1 am afraid nothing can be done. But lis a rule, thickness Ls due either to fatty deposits or to rheumatic or gouty ones. If this is the case, there are some excellent reducing creams and vinegars on the market, which do really act as a solvent, without doing any barm in any wav, only Hie greatest care must be used in selecting a cronm. and the advice of an expert should be asked. The Feet. To beautify the feet, and prevent the toes becoming too cramped by the constant use of shoes, it is a pood plan when alone in your bedroom to kick off your bedroom slippers and walk about for live or ten minutes without them. Raise yourself on tip-toe. anil then come again to standing position. Repeat this twelve times daily. It docs help to make tbe ankles more shapely, nnd strengthens the arch of the foot. Never allow the tot- joints to become enlarged or painful. Consult a chiropodist at once when you detect tbe least sign of this, for if the shape of the foot is once spoiled it is difficult lo and it never, really looks nice, even in shoes chosen and carefully worn.
