WHITE HORSE CUP. WON BY WAIPA. 1 . EODNEY AND PIAKO EUNXEBS-CP. ' The White Horse Cup hockey tournament final games were played at the Remneraground ycstcrd.iv, and resulted in \Tain holding their lead and winning the Cop From the first game of the series, in which Waipa defeated last year's winners (Piako) the Waipa team managed to hold first place. Rodney, Piako, and Franklin all proved to be good combinations, but they were unable to snatch away Waipa's initial advantage, and the latter won with two J points to spare. ! In the final games yesterday afternoon Rodney boat Whangarei by 2 goals to 1. Piako beat Thames by 3 ro 1, and Waipa beat Franklin 6 to 1. Whangarei have ! proved to be hard opponents, and they have I always made close games of it with the ; strongest opponents, but they have been rather unlucky in the matter o£ getting the win. Rodney had a very hard game against them in the last match, but managed to set a will, which put them on a par with Piako, who had an easy match against Thames. Rodney and Piako arc to play off for second place. The points at the end of the tourney play were: Waipa S, Rodney and Piako 6, Franklin 0, Whangarei 3, Thames 0. LADIES PROVINCIAL CUP. In the games for the Ladies' Provincial Cup yesterday afternoon. Franklin beat Auckland B, and King Country B beat Kotorua. This leaves the final to be played this afternoon between Auckland A and Kins Country B teams. The results of yesterday"s games were: Franklin, 2 goals (Mrs. McDonald. Miss Oldham), beat Auckland B, 1 (Miss Braith- ' waite). King Country B, 3 (Misses Fraser, , Stevens, McCready), beat Eotorua, 2 (Miss I Carnahan).
