LOANS FOR AVONDALE.
I . PROPOSALS BEFORE RATEPAYERS. Avondale ratepayers arc to-day expressing their opinion at a poll on seven loan proposals involving an expenditure ,of £64,200. Of this amount £7500 'is the borough's share of concreting the Great North Road. A street improvement scheme in three wards will account for £50,000, and the remaining money is proposed to be spent in street im-provomen-s in the borough proper, the purchase of plant, and the completion ■of the building 6. the Town Kail.
