There could bo no confidence till peaco was restored. France's finan cial need was one of the most pressing causes of the present Inter-Allied Con ference. He thought we were withir sight of the restoration of trade throughout tne world, and believed we were entering a new period of greal trade prosperity, probably the greatest the world had ever seen. The peoples ot the world were demanding better con ditions of life, and there was no reasor why they should not have them. Then was enough natural wealth in th( world to give every man a cjeeent income (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
