PROVINCE VOTES WET. VANCOUVER, July 17. , The province of Saskatchewan killed prohibition at to-day's plebiscite by a large majority in both country and cities. The \ote favours Government control of the liquor trade. The clause providing for the retail sale of beer was defeated.— . (A. and N.Z. Cable.) THE VOTE IN OCTOBER. (Received 9- a.m.) VANCOUVER, July 17. The "Toronto Mail and Empire" says that Ontario will take as liquor referendum on October 23, fulfilling Premier Ferguson's election pledge for a vote of the people if and when public opinion demands it. — (A. and N.Z.
