Messrs. Malller and Qneroau, of Now York, in their circular report that there has br>on a continued slowinK in liusiness. In building alone is there jrreat activity at the present time. In nearly all lines <if trade there is a steady slowing down or demand, with many manufacturers running only on part time, and a few have closed entirely. Manufacturers realise that to secure new business, particularly <or export, they must make material .redactions, but they have not yet reached a point where they are willing to do so.
