A FINE COMBINATION.
VANGUARD WINS TRT, DAT. ' FAVOURABLE COMMENT. (Received 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Commenting on tho "All Blacks'" match, the "Herald" says the winners gave a most finished exhibition of team work. The forwards played grandly. They are undoubtedly tho backbone of the team, which should mould into a. very high class combination. The "Telegraph says thfe big "All Blacks'' forwards were too hefty and fast for fhe homo ciclit. It was the devil and dash of the vanguard which really won the day. The paper pays a tribute to Porter, and says his anticipation is uncanny. It is certainly a big advantage to have a spoiling specialist "of the calibre of Porter in the team, and his bustling methods provided rather an easy passage for the whole of his back division. The "All Blacks" backs will be but little inferior to the famous 1905 team. The manager. "Mr. Little, stated that he was confident' the "All Blacks" had the makings of a great team. lie paid a high tribute to- the treatment received during their stay in Sydney..
