PAEROA BURGLARIES.

ANOTHER SHOP ENTERED. ONLY A RUG MISSING. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) PAEROA, this day. A labourer named John Johnson, alias Hazlett, alias McMillan, appeared in Court yesterday afternoon before Mr. P. E. Brenan, J.P.,1 charged with breaking and entering and theft on the premises of Messrs. Slyfield and Wright. On application by the police accused was remanded in custody until July 22. Another burglary took place on the premises of Mr. McWatters, men's outfitter, in Eelmont Road. Paeroa, in the early hours of this morning. Entry was gained by placing a packing case against a wall, smashing the glass in a window at the rear of the premises, forcing the window catch, and entering the fitting room. A dividing wall between it and the shop proper was apparently scaled, as revealed by- imiddy marks on the shop fixtures. Goods were not much disturbed, and so far as can be ascertained, only a travelling ni"- is missing.
