"Boy" Charlton, the Australian swimmer, \vun the 1500 metres in 20m 0 3-5s — a world's record. Arne Borg was second, his time being 20m. 41 2-ss. Beaurepaire, of Australia, was third; time, 21m 40 2-ss. In the final of the plain diving event, Eve, of Australia, had 13J points, Jansen (Sweden) 14_, Clark (Britian) loi, and Rash (America) 13_. — (A. and N.Z.) Charlton's intermediate world's records were: 400 metres 5m S 2-ss, and 1000 metres 13m 19 4-ss. On July 13, in the second heat, Charlton's time was 21m 30 2-ss, beating Arne Korg's previous figures of 21m 35 3-10s. In the next heat Borg did it in 21m 11 4-10s. On July 8, 1023, Arne Borg at Gothenburg did the 1500 metres in 21m 35 3-10s.
