INQUESTS.
■ AN ACCH/ENTAL DEATH. SURFDALE OCCURENCE. "Accidental death," was the verdict returned by the coroner, Mr. W. R. McKe«jn, S.M., this morning, at the inquest into the circumstances surrounding the death of Seymour Eltnsly Gordon, who was killed when a motor car in which he was a passenger overturned on the Great North Road on the evening of March 22 last.
After hearing the evidence of the driver, who stated that his machine capsized while he was turning, the coroner returned his verdict, and added that the occurrence was purely accidental. INHALED LIQUID MUD. The inquest on Dennis Power, who was found dead under a houso at Surfdale on Sunday, June 8, was also completed before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M. Previous evidence showed that, at the time of his death, deceased was intoxicated. Dr. W. N. R. Murray stated that} when examined, the body was covered in mud. Death was due to suffocation caused by deceased inhaling liquid mud. The coroner found that death was due to these causes, deceased being in a state of intoxication at the time.
