QUICK BUSINESS.
A MOTORIST AND HIS POLICY. A good story concerning a motor car, an insurance policy, and a smashed window is being told in the city. A gentleman purchased a new car, and, while having every confidence in his own ability as a driver, decided to take out an insurance policy, "just in ease something did happen." Accordingly he drove up at the office of an insurance company, left his car by the kerbing, entered the office, and, after the usual formalities, was given his policy. Possibly a little flustered by the cross-examination he had gone through, the gentleman reentered his car, did not notice that he had left it in gear, put his foot on the "gas," and then found himself back in the office, per way of the insurance company's window, through which he had shot backwards. Then, having recovered from his surprise, the driver, showing great presence of mind, stepped forth j from his car, which was now somewhat' damaged, and presented his policy over the counter, while the ink was still wet! That's what motorists would term "speeding."
