LONDON, Juno 2U. 1 The House of Commons carried a financial resolution on which the Uov- s eminent bases a bill amending old age l ■pensions, abolishing tho restrictions i under which limited private means due < to thrift disqualifies persons otherwise 1 eligible. ] I The bill provides that a person over : 70 years of age, with an income of 25/ > : weekly, is eligible for tho full pension : [of 111/ weekly, provided at least 15/ of, ; tho -j/ is derived from unearned sources. I ; A married couple having a joint/ income of 50/ weekly is eligible for a '■ pension of -M/. | j Mr. Philip Snowden (Chancellor of ; the Exchequer) said that he hoped shortly to submit a scheme pensioning I widows, especially widowed mothers, and to reduce the age limit to 05 also. — (A. | ■and N.Z.
