REFORM PARTY'S CAUCUS.
CONFIDENCE IN , MR. MASSEY. ■ (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. A caucus of the Reform party to-night passed a motion of continued confidence in Mr. Massey as Leader of the party, j The Prime Minister, interviewed j afterwards, stated that there was an ■ unusually large attendance, and all the ! members were present or accounted for. A motion was passed expressing sympathy with Mr. IX Burnett (Teniuka), \ who recently underwent a serious operation, and hope for his speedy recovery and return to his place in (he House. The meeting also passed a motion expressing regret that Mr. D. H. Guthrie, for health reasons, had to relinquish the portfolios which he had held with so ' much distinction and benefit to the • country, and the hope that he would be j completely restored to health, and that his usefulness to the country was not at an end. A motion of continued confidence in Mr. Massey as leader of the party was passed, and all present pledged "them- j selves, individually and collectively, to j jrive their leader all possible, support I during the session. No criticism was offered concerning the recent Auckland interview by Mr. J. S. Dickson (Parnell). He remains chief whip.
